Phew - Christmas
I've been having troubles with my internet connection these past few months and a nearby lightning strike, pushed me off the net again. The bigpond people have been out and haven't been able to source the problem. So while I have some connectivity, I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
I'm having a few weeks off and the home renovations will continue with floorboard polishing. If I get bored with it, you know, watching paint dry, I might post something, but pretty much, there won't be anything for two or three weeks.
Of course there will be the announcement of all the Menu For Hope prize winners on Chez Pim on Wednesday January 9, 2008, so there is something to look forward to. If you haven't donated yet, you need to hurry as there is less than two days to go, good luck everyone.
Thanks to all of you who have dropped by and especially those who have left comments, they always make my day and make writing so much more fun.

Edited to add: My partner and I just watched a metre (3ft) of water come down our street, a large rubbish bin or two floated down the flood and one driver stalled his new car right in the middle of the street. The hail, while not the biggest I've ever seen, made me glad I moved my car under cover. There is water flowing through our premises, fortunately, it's not doing any damage.

Lightening strikes! Oh my ~ I've been on and off-line lately as well, but nothing nearly as exciting as lightening strikes. But since we'll all be busy during the holidays, I wanted to be sure and wish you a very Merry Christmas ~ peace and joy to you and your wonderful family.

Lightning, floods -- is pestilence next??? I hope all is resolved before the holidays, and that you and your family enjoy a peaceful start to the new year.

Cant seem to leave a comment on your St.Kilda site so here it is.
I grew up in St.Kilda in the block Sur la Mer. When the old Plalais de Danse burned down I had moved to Park St, we sat on the grassy knoll opposite and mourned the loss of that great dancing partner of the picture palace of my youth.
The new development must be stopped. Over the years the face of St.Kilda has changed but this new atrocity will forever destroy the not incosiderable sense of place that this particular corner holds.
Good grief Neil! Flood waters flowing through the premises! Lightening striking! That's enough fun and games.

Happy Christmas Neil. It was exciting but the thunder disturbing for the dogs. I street becomes a river and it seemed such as waste for all this water to not be caught.
Sunnybrae, it is a travesty but I was talking to some neighbours as they picked cumquats to make marmalade. I don't think I've ever come across this kind of level of public dissent since the poll tax riots in London. My project for the NY will be to do compile a report on 10 years of the councils finances to help the cause along. The project isn't about anything but the economics of a developer.
